Manuela a été mon coach sportif personnel pendant 3 ans, plusieurs fois par semaine, et elle a participé à me transformer mentalement et physiquement. Après 3 enfants, un travail plus que prenant, des voyages professionnels internationaux plusieurs fois par mois, et donc zero temps pour penser à moi, j’avais atteint une niveau de négligence insensé envers ma santé. Manuela m’a proposé un programme personnalisé, engageant, adapté à mon rythme. Très professionnelle, et au faite des dernières techniques, elle m’a concocté un programme à base de Hiit, pilâtes, CrossFit, résistance, weightlifting… toujours varié, toujours changeant, et adapté à mes contraintes physiologiques. Manuela a constamment adapté son entraînement en fonction de mes goûts, mes progrès, mes déplacements (elle me motivait par mail à distance). J’ai perdu du poids, regagné de la tonicité, retrouvé une posture énergique. Moi qui n’avait fait que peu de sports, je participe maintenant, à plus de 45 ans, a des competitions de CrossFit, et mes palpitations cardiaques (dues au stress de mon travail) ont complètement disparu! Manuela est plus que professionnelle et compétente, elle est douée et bienveillante. Je lui dois beaucoup.

Manuela is a godsend if you want a personalized way to stay in shape. Training with Manuela for the past year has been the best thing I’ve done for myself in a very long time! When I began working with her, I was hoping to get back in shape after having four kids in six years, including twins a few months prior. I wanted to focus on regaining core strength (that had essentially disappeared!), toning muscles, and generally getting fit. She tailored each session to my ability level at the time and gradually we moved from gentle core exercises to more difficult whole body workouts. Manuela has been encouraging, nurturing, and positive while pushing me to get the most out of every workout, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to feel my progress over the months. She has helped me transform my whole body from flabby postpartum to strong and healthy and helped me rediscover a love of exercise.

Quand j’ai rencontré Manuela, j’avais des problèmes de faiblesse musculaire d’un coté, des muscles qui répondaient mal et en général un manque de tonicité de tout le corps. Je n’avais jamais eu de routine régulière d’exercices et recherchais quelqu’un qui adapte un programme à mes difficultés.
Manuela est formidable, elle est toujours àl’écoute de mon corps. Elle adapte les exercices sur le moment en fonction de ce que je lui dis et de ce qu’elle remarque, tout en m’encourageant et en me soutenant pour que je reconstruise mes muscles.
Mes séances avec elle sont nécessaires à mon bien être physique et mental. J’apprécie sa capacité d’adaptation, sa gentillesse, ses encouragements, sa précision et le dévouement à son travail. Je la recommande avec grand enthousiasme.

Highly recommend Manuela Calvet as a personal trainer. She’s the best! Her training routines are highly customized as she truly understands her client’s needs. She has a great understanding of the human body and knows how to train around injuries, etc. Plus, she keeps the routines exciting – always changing it up so you work out core body parts in a different way each time. Her routine push you in all the right ways and keeps me coming back for more! I can’t say enough great things about Manuela!

Squarely in my mid-40s, I started meeting with Manuela twice a week. She customized my program and moved me along at a challenging but realistic pace. Two years later, staring at 50 now, I am stronger and fitter than I have ever been. I can actually see muscle definition where I didn’t know I had muscles. Manuela has a technical eye on the muscle groups during workouts and always on safety. She varies our sets so each workout is different. I look forward to working out with Manuela and to being cheered on by her while pushing myself. No matter what is going on in my life, I keep my workouts with Manuela on the calendar!

I have had many, many personal trainers in my life. I have done many different types of workouts. Working out with Manuela has by far been the best experience both in terms of results and pure fun. When I was started with her, I came from a period of almost no exercise. She carefully got me going so that in about 6 months, I could easily run a half marathon and am training for a full marathon now. So much of staying injury-free as a runner is ensuring the proper cross training on non-run days. Manuela knew what the best plan was and helped me stay focused, feel strong and avoid any injury. Similarly, I noticed my workouts helped my skiing too, which I took as a sign that I was getting more balanced strength plus endurance (I started without very lopsided.) But that’s not even the best part! She is totally fun! Her enthusiasm is contagious and she keeps it challenging, varied and fun! She’s the best!

J’ai rencontré Manuela il y a 5 ans, et il était temps !
Je n’avais pas fait de sport de façon régulière depuis 5 ans et ma vie avec ma fille handicapée avait brouillé les pistes. Manuela m’a aidé à prendre soins de mon corps, à récupérer mon énergie, ma force, ma souplesse en fonction de mes besoins. Ceux de devoir porter, soulever ma fille, ou de la transférer plusieurs fois par jours.
Avec elle, nous avons vite redéfini comment me renforcer pour pouvoir tenir la longueur, être la mère d’une jeune fille handicapée a 100%, ne pas souffrir de limitations ou de douleurs musculaires pour pouvoir, jour après jours, faire face aux besoins du quotidien.
Ce challenge, j’ai pu le remporter grâce à Manuela. Non seulement elle m’a aidée à être plus forte physiquement mais aussi son soutien moral a fait une énorme différence. C’est avec plaisir et envie que je la retrouve toutes les semaines pour prendre soin de « moi ». J’ai peu à peu retrouvé les contours de mon corps et la force intérieure d’une mère, d’une femme. La confiance et la fierté de mon corps, plus musclé et surtout plus libre. A n’importe quel âge, on peut reprendre le contrôle, de sa vie, de son corps.
Avec un passé de danseuse, nageuse, « yoga Addict », de « Feldenkrais practitionner » et de maman de fille handicapée, Manuela a su entendre mes besoins et rejoindre mes demandes.

I’ve been going to Manuela every week for over 4 years. She is very aware of each person’s needs and capability and customizes the workout for the individual. Approaching 69 years at 300 lbs and 5 years past bypass surgery, I found I could hardly make the normal moves that life requires: getting in and out of a car, chair or even bed without difficulty or help. “Getting old”, thought I, but I knew that I had become sedentary. Reversing that would require me to have the leadership of a trainer, as I do not have much self discipline. That idea seemed extravagant to me, but not to my darling wife.
Lisa learned of personal trainer Manuela Calvet and her record of results. Her workout lasts one hour and uses little equipment: a few dumbbell weights, an elastic band, a step stool, a ball, all of which she supplies. The sessions are organized, purposeful, positive, friendly and interesting; I am always surprised when the session ends.
We began with simple stretches and other exercises. Manuela has continuously added new exercises and modified the old for endless variety. But for all Manuela has in mind the purpose of working on some particular muscle group.
I am pleased to report that my condition improved rapidly and now 15 months later I move as I did decades ago. My weight is down.
I am most appreciative of Manuela’s efforts, her skill and her wonderful spirit. It is therefore my privilege to recommend her as a trainer without any reservations what so ever.

I have attended Manuela’s Sunday “bootcamp” for about five years which has been challenging, fun, and rewarding. When I turned 50, I felt that I needed to focus more on my core strength and balance. Manuela’s rigorous pace, high energy, and expertise encouraged me to work hard while also having a great time. I definitely feel stronger and more toned as a result of our intense group workouts. J’avais fait du yoga et du Pilate par le passé, mais je ne suis ni une sportive régulière ni très motivée. Mon entrainement avec Manuela une fois par semaine a été très bénéfique : j’ai développé de l’endurance, j’ai travaillé force, flexibilité et résistance. Manuela a su me guider et me proposer des exercices sur mesure, tenant compte de mes objectifs (comme par exemple reconstruire mes abdos après 3 grossesses) et de mes problèmes (sciatique récurrente). J’ai appris de nombreux exercices nouveaux et variés, j’ai même couru un 5K moi qui n’ai jamais couru de ma vie…
Mais surtout, le plus important pour moi qui habituellement ne suis pas fan d’exercice, j’ai vraiment trouvé facile de garder la discipline et de prendre du plaisir et de me détendre durant nos séances. Merci Manuela pour cette remise en forme !

Manuela is an amazing personal trainer. I loved Manuela’s training from the first class, got into the habit of exercising and have been enjoying it for 5 years now. When we started, I was barely able to hold my plank for 30 seconds, squats and lunges were painful and I could hardly hold my balance. I was quite weak overall, especially my right leg on which I had an ACL knee reconstruction surgery a few years back. I also used to have a lot of pain in my hips, but as we kept exercising, I got stronger, and more flexible around my hip joints, and the pain is now gone. Manuela carefully studied my body and its weak points, and selected exercises to help correct my issues. Her lessons with me are structured in a way that I get to do the corrective exercises, the overall strength training, full body workout and stretches. She never uses the same routine, but always works around my problem areas, building the corrective exercises into a fun overall sequence.
Manuela is always prepared for her lesson but she feels you – and will adjust her plan based on how you feel, your mood, your energy level. While she is a soft spoken and empathetic woman, Manuela knows how to give you a push so that you work harder, and get more out of your session. I always leave with a deep satisfying feeling of well worked muscles around my body, and it is always as much as needed, never too much or too little.
I have improved my body in a big way and kept it in shape since I started working out with her. I can easily hold my plank for a couple minutes, my balance is excellent, and my legs, arms, abdomen, back are stronger than ever. My attitude towards exercise has changed forever. I know it works, and it can work wonders especially if the right person, whom you can trust, and who loves doing it, supports you through this journey.

Finding Manuela was one of the luckiest things that ever happened to me. I hate exercise, and she makes it fun and productive. I was also really concerned about my husband’s physical conditioning, so after working with Manuela myself for a few months, I decided to introduce them. My husband is absolutely not the type of guy who would indulge in a private trainer. However, in the year and a half since he started working with Manuela he has said on many occasions that he is able to do so much more since he started training with her. I actually think that she has saved his life, or at leasthis quality of life. My next trick will be to convince him that now we must follow her to the south of France!
